What is the Center for Human Phenomic Science?

The CHPS provides the resources, environment, operations, and training to support and promote the highest quality clinical and translational research by qualified investigators. These include inpatient and outpatient services for research activities, as well as a range of other research services and expertise.

The Center for Human Phenomic Science was formed with the receipt of the Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA), an NIH Roadmap initiative. The CHPS has child and adult specific research resources at the Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and University of Pennsylvania Health System (UPHS), respectively, as well as joint components. The CHPS merged the General Clinical Research Centers (GCRCs) at both institutions, as well as introduced new programs and services.

More information can be found on the CHPS Services and Facilities page and on Penn's ITMAT website. ITMAT is The Institute for Translational Medicine and Therapeutics and is the academic home of the CTSA.
